Our Origin Story

We’re Maddie and Kerry — friends since 2009-ish, bonded over tennis matches, Sonic slushies, handmade mixtapes, and so much laughter. Our friendship started strong and stayed that way through all of life’s twists: family challenges, undergrad, law school (for Maddie), physical therapy school (for Kerry), moves across states and even across continents. Through it all, we’ve shown up for each other — traveling near and far, cheering for every win, and making space for connection when life felt uncertain.

Most recently, we both found ourselves in new places: Maddie moved to Alaska with her husband, dog (Finnigin), and cat (Minnie), while Kerry landed in Denver with her dog (Oakley). Building new community as adults has felt... hard. Overwhelming. Tiring. So, like we often do, we turned to books.

One book in particular — Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World by Dr. Vivek Murthy — sparked something. It put words to a feeling we’d both been carrying: the need for intentional spaces where people can feel known, supported, and less alone.

From that spark, Roundtables was born — a space for real connection, built on empathy, warmth, and the belief that even a short conversation can shift something deep.

We’re here to help people build meaningful communities, one conversation at a time.

About Us

Our Co-Founders

From teenage academy tennis players to community collaborators, our growth remains the same - connect with people from all walks of life and learn together

Madeleine "Maddie" Moffett

Howdy — I’m Maddie! I’m a lawyer, a bookworm, and a longtime lover of carrot cake. For the past six years, I’ve practiced real estate law at Husch Blackwell, advising clients on complex commercial transactions. I’ve read my favorite book, Life of Pi, thirteen times—and I’ve eaten more slices of carrot cake than I should admit.

Recently, I moved to Alaska with my husband to dive into real estate development. Between living in the wilderness, working remotely as a lawyer, launching a business, and adjusting to a new state with a very cold (and very dark) winter, I found myself facing a deep sense of loneliness I hadn't anticipated.

Roundtables was born from that experience—and from a desire to create meaningful connection, build intentional community, and help destigmatize loneliness for others, too.

Kerry Wiegand

Hi, I'm Kerry—a physical therapist, dog mom, book lover, and someone who is starved for social interactions about 80% of the time. While practicing as an orthopedic physical therapist for the past 4 years, I've witnessed firsthand the impact and need for community, conversation, and connection has on our overall health.

Whether I’m playing tennis with friends, road-tripping through the mountains with my dog Oakley, or talking books (rom-coms and fantasy are my go-tos), I’m always chasing those small moments of connection that make life feel richer.

I hope this space becomes that kind of place for others, too.

Connect With Us

"What often matters is not the quantity of or frequency of social contact but the quality of our connections and how we feel about them."
